EFFECT OF ORGANIC MATTER SOURCES AND AMOUNTS IN THE PARENT PLANT, FRIST AND SECOND FOLLOWERS OF THE BANANA CV. PRATA IN ESPÍRITO SANTO STATE, BRASIL

Authors:   J.A. Gomes, A.C. Nóbrega, A.C. da Rocha
Abstract:
A banana experiment was carried out with cv. Prata, under the ecological conditions of the Espírito Santo State. The effect of organic matter was studied on growth and bunch weigh of the parent plant, first and second followers (ratoons), in Cambisols Dystric C. with 1,4% of organic matter level and 50% of declivity. A randomized block design with ten treatments was used. The treatments were as follows per plant: coffee straw (10 and 20 litre); stalk of the bunch (10 and 20 litre); organic “Bioterra” (0,5Kg); straw (10 litre) + stalk (10 litre); straw (10 litre) + “Bioterra” (0,5Kg); stalk (10 litre) + “Bioterra” (0,5Kg) and control. The results did not showed significative difference between the control and the amount of organic matter sources studied.
