ISHS Acta Horticulturae 369: Symposium on Small Scale vegetable production and Horticultural Economics in Developing Countries

GROWTH AND CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF OKRA PODS HARVESTED FROM DIFFERENT NODE POSITIONS

Authors:   S. Ketsa, B. Chutichudet
Abstract:
The growth and chemical composition of okra pods cv. OK #2 harvested at four and five days after full bloom from different node positions on the main stems were studied. The results showed that pods harvested from lower node positions had a better growth than those from higher node positions but they were not significantly different in soluble solids, ascorbic acid, titratable acidity and fibre contents.
