MOVEMENT OF CHLORPYRIFOS-INSECTICIDE IN SOIL |

| Abstract:
A laboratory study of the movement and distribution of chlorpyrifos-insecticide, using miscible displacement and leaching technique, that the chlorpyrifos moved very rapidly at short time after application of the insecticide before first steps of adsorption were fulfilled. After a few hours, the movement was controlled by adsorption and degradation processes. Half-life of the chlorpyrifos in the water surface (influent or displacing fluid) was 11.1 hours. Adsorption of the chlorpyrifos by soil constituents lowered degradation process. | |
