RECENT ADVANCES IN CHINESE PEAR BREEDING AND GENETICS IN CHINA

Abstract:
This article deals with the 13 Pyrus species that are known to have their origion in China, including 4 cultivated species and some germplasms of special importance. Also given in this paper is a brief review of the researches that have been carried out recently in China on dynamic aspects of the heredity and variability of some characteristics in Chinese pears and problems concerning juvenility, pre-selection, pollen, chromosome and isozyme patterns.
