SEQUENTIAL INTRODUCTION OF HONEY BEE COLONIES FOR PEAR POLLINATION

Abstract:
Adding additional honey bee colonies to pear orchards when the trees were at about 50% open bloom resulted in more bees foraging for one day in nine of the 14 orchards. The percent fruit set was significantly higher in the wave introduction part of 10 of the 14 orchards
