EFFECT OF DIFFERENT CHEMICALS ON YIELD AND FRUIT QUALITY OF ‘LE CONTE’ PEAR

Authors:   J. SINGH, K.K. SHARMA, S.S. MANN, R. SINGH, G.P.S. GREWAL
Abstract:
Studies on the effect of different chemicals on yield and fruit quality of pear cultivar ‘Le Conte’ were conducted during 1991. GA3, AgNO3 and CoCl2 (20 and 40 ppm each) and sucrose (5 and 10 per cent) were sprayed at full bloom stage. Sucrose 10 per cent increased yield by 168 per cent over the control. GA3 (20 and 40 ppm), AgNO3 (20 ppm) and CoCl2 (20 and 40 ppm) also increased yield significantly over the control. Increased yield did not affect the fruit quality adversely.
