Abstract:
The three years old trees of Ruth Gerstetter with interstem of Early Prune, Italian Prune, Opal and Pixy were investigated.
Interstems had no influence on the growth vigor.
In the second year after planting, the majority of trees had set flowers buds, but most of them were injured by the spring frost.
In the third year after planting trees produced the first yield.
The crop varied from 6,2 to 7,2 kg/tree depending on interstem.
Control trees at the same time have produced on average 6,6 kg fruit per a tree.
Bark cracking was observed on the trunk of trees without interstems and also the tendency to gumosis ocurred on limbs.
Trees with interstem of Early Prune, Italian Prune and Opal cvs were healthy and distinguished with high quality fruits.
Trees with Pixy interstem showed a tendency to lower productivity and smaller fruits.
