| Abstract:
Allium networks are evolving to coordinate the collection, conservation, and utilization of the genetic resources within the genus, e.g., the European Cooperative Programme Allium Working Group, the U.K. Natural Resources Institute Onion Newsletter for the Tropics network, and the Allium Improvement Newsletter. This paper will assess the objectives and achievements of these initiatives, and then discuss the possible mechanisms and requirements for the expansion of activities on a global scale. | |
