| Abstract:
Allium crops are important in Indonesia. They are consumed primarily as food ingredient and are also used as traditional medicines. There are many species of alliums grown in Indonesia, however, the most widely grown are: shallot (Allium cepa aggregatum, syn A. ascalonicum), bunching onion (A. fistulosum), and garlic (A. sativum). The other minor ones are chive (A. schoenoprasum), Chinese chive (A. tuberosum), leek (A. porrum), Rakkyo (A. chinense), and onion (A. cepa). | |
