ISHS Acta Horticulturae 356: II International Symposium on Olive Growing

IMPACT OF DIFFERENT BACTROCERA OLEAE (GMEL) CONTROL STRATEGIES ON OLIVE-GROVE ENTOMOFAUNA.

Authors:   R. Petacchi, A. Minnocci
Keywords:   insect, community structure, chromotropic traps, treatments
Abstract:
Yellow sticky traps were used for two consecutive years to capture insect entomofauna in an olive grove, to study the structure of the insect community and its influence on larvicide and adulticide treatments against B. oleae. Preliminary results of the first year of sampling are reported for the most numerous suborders found (Diptera Brachicera and Nematocera, Microhymenoptera and "other Hymenoptera", Rhynchota Homoptera and Heteroptera, "Other orders"). D. brachicera (except B. oleae) was the biggest group caught by traps, but a significant number of Microhymenoptera were present in all sampling periods. Treatments appeared to have a negative impact on the olive-grove entomofauna.
