ISHS Acta Horticulturae 356: II International Symposium on Olive Growing

THE ROOTING ABILITY OF OLIVE CUTTINGS FROM CV. MANZANILLO F1 PROGENY PLANTS IN RELATION TO THEIR MOTHER-CULTIVARS

Authors:   Z. Wiesman, S. Lavee
Abstract:
Most F1 progeny trees derived from free polination of cv. Manzanillo showed a lower rooting ability. The rooting ability of cuttings from both F1 progeny and the cv. manzanillo mother plants was unchanged when tested in the spring or late summer. Selected cv. Manzanillo clones from different local and foreign origins showed a significantly higher rooting ability, than that of the standard Israeli cv. Manzanillo used in comercial orchards.
