Authors:   M.V. Parlati, E. Bellini, E. Perri, S. Pandolfi, E. Giordani, S. Martelli
Abstract:
The results of a plant breeding program on olive are reported. The study is part of a vast research program started at Bolgheri (LI) in 1971 by the Istituto di Coltivazioni arboree (presently Department of Horticulture) of the University nf Florence. Some valuable selections have resulted from the initial studies.

They are noted for the following characteristics: large drupe size. even more than 8g; early ripening; a different oil yield; variability in the color of the epidermis, from green to black, also with early ripening; plant size, from large to very small.
