ROOT ROT OF RED RASPBERRY CAUSED BY PHYTOPHTHORA SPP. IN SOME REGIONS IN POLAND

Authors:   H. Profic-Alwasiak, J. Danek
Abstract:
Severe symptoms of red raspberry infection with Phytophthora root rot were noticed at Brzezna in 1990. In 1992 eighty five raspberry plantations in the main production areas, in the south eastern Poland were surveyed. Malling Seedling, M. Promise and Veten were the most common varieties. Isolations were made on selecting media. Only one plantation with distinct symptoms of Phytophthora was found. It was identified as Ph. citricola. Its strong pathogenicity to raspberry has been confirmed in artificial inoculations.
