Abstract:
Herbicide Avans 480 SL (480 g/l sulfosate) was compared to standard Roundup and to mechanical soil cultivation.
Weeds were treated with either Avans or Roundup, prior to gooseberry and black currant planting. The common couch (Agropyron repens) was fully controlled by Avans at the rate of 5 l/ha, while for creeping thistle (Cirsium arvense) and field bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis) were controlled, with higher rates.
In the next season there was no visible negative influence of Avans 480 SL on growth of gooseberry and black currant.
Ten year old raspberry plants were efficiently killed with Avans 480 SL at the rate of 6 l/ha.
Avans 480 SL was as efficient for weed control as the standard herbicide Roundup.
