Abstract:
During the studies of primary inflorescence of axilary buds development of two black currant cvs - Otelo and BO-756 under the conditions of Nitra it has been found that third stage of organogenesis occurs in the first half of July and the fourth one in the second half of July.
The transition into the fifth stage occurred by the end of July through the beginning of August.
This stage persists till February.
In case of Otelo cv. the differentiation of inflorescence occurs earlier.
Secondary inflorescences begin to differentiate at the beginning of August and develop more slowly (August - September). This finding calls for modification of cultivation 'technology, but mainly for chronological implementation of irrigation.
BO-756 produced greater number of flowers (by 18.36) in the primary inflorescence than Otelo cv. (by 14.97). BO-756 forms blossom bud lower (beginning at seventh or eight bud from the base) than Otelo (beginning at 13th or 14th buds). Fruit bearing part of the shoot is larger in BO-756. The influence of irrigation on most morphological characteristics was positive.
Otelo achieved higher weight of berries and racemes (3.86 kg/plant) than BO-756 (3.12 kg/plant). Cultivar BO-756 responded positively to irrigation.
