Abstract:
The growth, yield and leaf nutrient content of gooseberry White Smith and Resistenta cvs influenced by fertilization and liming were investigated.
The data have been collected during 8 years while fertilization and liming of the soil remained the same since 1923.
Both cultivars responded similarily to the macroelements and soil pH variables.
The best growth and yields were recorded on soil with CaNPK and NPK fertilizations.
Poorer growth and yields were observed on soil without phosphorus (NK) and without N (PK) fertilizations.
Plants from the remaining plots (O and PN) were very weak and yielded poorly.
The influence of fertilization on the content of macroelements in leaves was very evident.
Very low content of K in the soil and leaves from plots without K fertilization had negative effect on growth and yielding of both cultivars.
