Abstract:
But-rot is a quite important disease for hazel orchards of Piedmont and, in unfavourable years, it may cause important loss of production.
Against this desease are efficacious treatments carried out at leaf drop with benzimidazolic fungicides.
The latest researches about the bioepidemiology of the fungus have shown the existence in summer and autumn of an infective phase on leaves successive to spring phase on buds.
This acquisition offers a new explanation about the effectiveness of autumnal treatments and perhaps will open interesting prospects for a supervised control.
