ANALISI MORFOLOGICHE E MORFOMETRICHE DEI POLLINI DI 'TGL', 'COSFORD' ED IBRIDI 'TGL' X 'COSFORD'. |

| Abstract:
Morphological and morphometric analyses on pollen of Corylus avellana cultivars Tonda gentile delle Langhe (TGL) and 'Cosford', and of 6 selections 'TGL' x 'Cosford' has been carried out. Pollen grains were observed at OM and SEM. Image analysis was carried out on SEM micrographs to show differences in exine ornamentation. The percentage of normal and sterile grains has been calculated in all the cultivars and selections. A high percentage of anomalous pollen grains was found in cultivar 'TGL' and in the selection, while in cultivar Cosford the percentage of anomalous grains was very low. Morphological and morphometric analyses showed homogeneity among the pollen grains of the all the tested cultivars and selections that were distinguishable only at image analysis. | |
