| Abstract:
Several videotapes have been produced to recruit new students into the field of horticulture. Most of these tapes are designed and produced by adults, but most of them are intended for youth. Survey results are presented here in an effort to help future recruitment videotape producers reach youth more successfully. Video presentation styles that adults believe students (age 11–18) will respond to favorably are compared with those styles preferred by the students. Also discussed are students' ideas of what should be included in a career video, the sources of information they rely on in making career decisions, and their post-secondary school plans. | |
