Abstract:
Plant tissue culture has an expanding contribution to make in plant production and plant breeding.
It has become an established curriculum component in horticultural training and there is a demand for in-service courses from horticulturists involved in the industry and in government laboratories, and e.g. in seed banks and quarantine and certification laboratories.
This paper discusses the courses developed in our department in response to student and industry demand and requests from UNESCO and FAO to provide training courses for personnel from developing countries.
