Abstract:
High density planting of 'Japanese' plums of various cultivars have been developed experimentally in the coastal plain and hilly Lower Galilee of Israel.
These young orchards seemed superior to the standard ones, in their simple maintenance and early yields.
Older trees required improved methods to overcome competition among shoots and fruits, together with better pest control.
