ISHS Acta Horticulturae 348: II International Strawberry Symposium

INFLUENCES OF MAGNETIC FIELDS ON GROWTH AND FRUIT PRODUCTION OF STRAWBERRY

Authors:   T. Matsuda, H. Asou, M. Kobayashi, M. Yonekura
Abstract:
Magnetic fields are a constant environmental condition encountered in biology (Dunlop and Shmidt, 1969). Recently, influences of magnetic fields on plant growth has been reported (Gemishev and Tsolova, 1986; Kato, 1988). Research for the present authors about influences of magnetic fields on growth of seedlings of radish found that a magnetic fields of 7Hz•450 A/m accelerated growth of the seedlings. In this experiment, influences of approximately the same magnetic field strength on growth and fruit production of the strawberry were researched with the result that such fields had positive effects.
