Abstract:
Quality of strawberry plants was affected by low temperature storage as revealed by their flowering response in controlled environments.
After prolonged cold storage periods, the number of flowers developed per plant was particularly reduced; starch content in the rhizome was markedly decreased as well as sucrose level in the phloem sap collected from the leaves or reaching the inflorescence of plants at the time of first anthesis.
