Abstract:
In 50 French reference orchards where Integrated Production techniques were applied, eating quality was the most important commercial consideration for COVAPI members.
Surveys have been carried out since 1981 to identify relationships between taste quality parameters, sugars, acidity and cultural parameters such as yield and nitrogen fertilizer application.
Leaf and fruit mineral concentrations of Golden Delicious apple used as independant variables were recognized using a stepwise regression analysis as being partly responsible for quality index variations.
The results concerning K, Mg, B are used to advise Integrated Fruit Production (IFP) growers producing fruit of excellent flavour.
