EFFECT OF DIFFERENT AUXIN-CYTOKININ COMBINATIONS ON THE IN VITRO PROPAGATION OF RASPBERRY CV. SCHÖNEMANN

Authors:   S. Karakullukçu, Y.S. Agaoglu, K. Abak
Abstract:
Experiment were done to determine the most appropriate auxin (IBA) and cytokinin (BAP) combinations for various stages in the micropropagation of the raspberry cv. Schönemann. Explants were cultured on the modified MS media, enriched with IBA and BAP at various concentrations. GA3 at various levels were added to four IBA x BAP combinations.

The highest rate of establishment (93.3 %) occurred in media with 0.01 x 0.5 mgl-1 and 0.5 x 0.5 mgl-1 IBA x BAP. GA3 addition had no positive effect at this stage. The combination of 0.5 x 0.5 mgl-1 and 0.5 x 1.0 mgl-1 IBA x BAP had positive effects on proliferation. 87 % rooting was achived in the MS medium without hormones, but increased to 92.8 % in MS liquid medium with rock wool.
