Abstract:
A simple and reliable GC-MS method was developed for the separation and quantitative determination of -amyrin from Saponariae albae root extract.
After acid hydrolization the extract was sylilated by BSMOC and analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) on an apolar phase capillary column.
The method is suitable for the standardization of extracts and plants containing oleane type triterpenes.
