| Abstract:
The blossom pests, Frankliniella bispinosa, F. kelliae, Daghbertus sp., and a complex of microlepidoptera larvae, i.e., Pococera atramentalis, Platinota rostrana, Pleuroprucha insulsaria, Tallula sp., and Racheospila gerularia, are the most important pests of mango flowers in Florida. The scales, Radionaspis indica and Morganella longispina are common pests of the trunk, branches and buds, and severe infestations are manifested by cracking of the bark, exudation of sap and decline of upper branches. In total around 66 species of arthropods are found in mango. Apart from the major pests mentioned above, the economic importance of the rest is probably minor. | |
