Abstract:
SADH treatments strongly increased the colouring of cherry fruits and reduced the uneven ripening; the sugar content and fruit development were also stimulated, though to a lesser extent than anthocyanin synthesis.
Treatments also increased the ratio of weight of fruit pulp to stone by 10–20%. The treated fruits were heavier, longer, broader and thicker than the controls, but the dimensions of the stones did not change.
The ratios length/thickness, length/breadth and thickness/breadth of fruits and stones were not affected, but the coefficient of correlation between the different fruit dimensions was slightly reduced.
