Abstract:
GA sprays reduced flowering of 'Late Valencia' oranges by 44 to 75%, and fruit-set by 16 to 41%, depending on the concentration and time of application.
The number of flowers per inflorescence was not greatly affected.
It was shown that such sprays could be used to adjust the flower density at around 630 flowers/m2, the estimated level required to control biennial cropping.
