Abstract:
Nutritional and hormonal factors control such developmental processes as shoot growth, branching and flower formation in interrelated patterns.
The external application of plant growth regulators interferes with these patterns and thus affects growth and development.
The technical and theoretical limitations of the experimental approach to an understanding of this interference are discussed.
