Abstract:
In a four-year crop rotation consisting of white cabbage, onion, red beet and cabbage the slow release N fertilizers type Mono with different dissolving coefficients (rN = 1.3 %, 5.0 %, 10.0 %) as well as mixtures of these compounds were supplied in advance at 500 and 1000 kg N/ha.
The efficiency was compared with ammonium nitrate and urea used annually at 200 kg N/ha for cabbage and 150 kg N/ha for onion and red beet.
Analysis of the data from the study showed that Mono fertilizer I (rN = 1.3 %) was only a slightly less efficient N source in the first year, but gave better results than two other Mono fertilizers (rN = 5.0 % and 10.0 %) in the last two crops.
The promising source of N for vegetable crops appeared to be mixed fertilizer C comprising Mono fertilizers II and III (rN = 5.0% and 10.0 %) in equal ratios.
Its application at the rate of 1000 kg N/ha generally ensured similar yields of vegetables during the four-year crop rotation compared to ammonium nitrate or urea applied annually at recommended amounts.
