| Abstract:
Eight pear clones from a collection of over 200 second test selections have been advanced to cooperator trial status. All selections have been evaluated for natural and artifical fire blight infection of both shoots and blossoms. All have shown resistance to infection equal to or better than 'Seckel', from which their resistance is derived. Fruit quality and storage life have been assessed. The series covers a range of harvest maturities, from early August to late September. | |
