AN UPDATE ON VERSION 4.1 OF THE MARYBLYT™ COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR PREDICTING FIRE BLIGHT |

| Abstract:
A computer model, based on the MARYBLYT™ fire blight predictive system, was developed for operation on IBM compatible personal computers and presented at the Fifth International Workshop on Fire blight in 1989. Input from other researchers and use of the model over a wider range of climatic conditions initiated enhancements to the system. The basic model remains intact with modification to the method of calculating degree days and degree hours. Other significant changes include a data file interface and the inclusion of instructional messages with audible warning signals. These messages provide infection and symptom alerts and aid the user when making decisions for the development and implementation of a control strategy. | |
