Abstract:
Non-isoprenoid long chain phenolic compounds isolated from the cashew Anacardium occidentale (Anacardiaceae) nut shell oil such as anacardic acids, cardols, methylcardols and cardanols have been found to show potent antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria.
