Abstract:
Achyrocline satureioides is a native species of Uruguay, Southern Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay whose flowers are used in "popular" medicine.
Propagation methods are being tested.
Growing media for cuttings were tested, yielding better results in sand than in soil plus humus and a 50:50 mixture of sand and humic soil.
Satisfactory rooting for transplanting was reached in 36 days with spring cuttings, with adventitious roots of up to 7 cm.
The best treatment for the NAA application was a 0.01 % solution.
No effect was detected between concentrations when applied in talc, with similar results for IAA under both forms of application.
The best concentrations for IBA were 0.1 % and 0.5 % in solution and 0.1 % in talc.
Growth is delayed in late cuttings (February) compared to November cuttings because by then flower induction has started with a resultant delay in vegetative activity.
