Abstract:
Drosera intermedia Hayne and Drosera spathulata Labill. (Droseraceae) developed by in vitro culture on Reinert-Mohr medium were analysed for phenolic compounds.
Both species yielded flavonoids: myricetin 3–0-rhamnoside, quercetin 3–0-rhamnoside, quercetin 3–0-galactoside, quercetin 3–0- -glucoside, kaempferol 3–0-galactoside and kaempferol 3–0-glucoside; and 5,6-dimethoxy-1,2,4,7-tetrahydroksynaphthalene 1-0- -glucopyranoside.
The occurence of volatile naphthoquinones - plumbagin and traces of 7-methyljuglone in D. intermedia and only 7-methyljuglone in D. spathulata - was similar to that previously reported by other authors (Bonnet et al., 1984; Zenk et al., 1967).
