Abstract:
The principal Tuscan oil variety, "Frantoio", was treated before and during bloom with several biostimulants, in order to determine their effect on fruit-set.
Products tested were: "Siapton 10L" at 500 and 1000 ppm, Boric Acid at 50 ppm, "66F" at 100 ppm and "Triacontanol" at a concentration of 100 ppb.
Main stone-fruit characteristics and "in vitro" pollen germination ability were also estimated, using the same products.
Overall results showed differentiated behavior depending on dose and product utilized. "66F" and "Siapton" led to notable increase in percent fruit-set and corresponding plant productivity, with positive effect on several characteristics of the stone-fruit.
