THE EFFECT OF CCC ON THE YIELD OF TULIP CV. POLKA |

| Abstract:
The effect of leaf applications of CCC on the yield of bulbs of the tulip cv. Polka was studied. Four concentrations of CCC in water were used and the sprays were applied in three stages of the plant growth: I - on green buds, II - immediatly after heading and III - ten days after heading. The studies show that CCC has a favourable effect on the yield of tulip cv. Polka. The optimal effect was obtained with 0.1% CCC applied to plants in the green bud stage (I). In this case an increase of the production of first choice bulbs by 56% in 1989/90 and by 14.2% in 1990/91 was found. | |
