FACTORS INFLUENCING THE YIELD OF ALSTROEMERIA

Authors:   A. Lisiecka, S. Szczepaniak
Abstract:
Several experiments were carried out in order to detect factors influencing the amount and quality of the yield of Alstroemeria under Polish conditions. It was concluded that in greenhouses planting in Fabruary can be recommended as well as planting in the autumn. The best substrate is a mixture of hotbed muck soil and peat 1:1 v/v). In order to prepare the peat substrate, multiple fertilizers should be used in the amount below 2 g/dm3. Weekly top-dressing ought to be applied at the concentration of 0.2%. Cultivars Appelbloesem, King Cardinal and Pink Triumph are recommended for growing in greenhouses.
