Abstract:
A review of studies on the hormonal control of growth and development of tulips is presented.
Most attention is paid to dormancy, dormancy release and shoot growth after bulbs cooling.
The effects of exogenously applied plant growth regulators in relationship to changes of endogenous hormones activities under in vitro and in vivo conditions are summarized.
The possible role of auxins, gibberellins, cytokinins, abscisic acid, ethylene, jasmonates and polyamines is discussed.
