Abstract:
Seeds of Lilium pumilum germinated in the range of temperatures from 10°C to 25°C with the optimum at 20°C. Germination was completely inhibited at 30°C. This inhibition was reversed after transferring the seeds to 20°C. Two days of a treatment at 30°C changed the optimal germination temperatures to a range of 15–25°C. Treatment with ethephon (10-3M) during incubation of seeds at 30°C inhibited subsequent germination at 20°C. ACC treatment had no such effect.
