Abstract:
A weight lysimeter was used in order to determine water loss from cucumber plants (Cucumis sativa L.) cv.
Beta Alpha grown in peat bags.
Irrigation was controlled during the experiment using a balance connected with a submersible pump by a micro-switch.
Water loss was compensated as soon as it reaches 50g.
Leaf and air temperatures, relative humidity and incident radiation were measured in leaves at four different levels on the plant.
In addition, soil temperature and water loss were measured every 1–2 h.
Data are discussed in relation to the local microclimatic conditions.
