Abstract:
Most of the Belgian pear orchards are trained in pruning systems where chemical growth regulation is considered necessary.
On the loamy soils, there is an excessive vegetative growth that should be controlled by early productivity.
In integrated fruit production, chemical growth regulation is not permitted.
Therefore, we compared a pruning system without chemical growth regulation (Gorsem training method) and a more classical training system, where the effect of different growth regulators was studied.
