QUALITY STANDARDIZATION OF THAI MANGO, MANGIFERA INDICA L. |

| Abstract:
Quality standardization of five commercial cultivars of Thai mango (Mangifera indica L.), namely Nam-Dokmai, Nang-klangwan, Tong-Dam, Ratt and Pim-saenpiew was set-up. Quantitative data on fruit size, shape, and weight were recorded. Qualitative data on flavour, texture and fibre were determined by panel test. The analyzed results using percentile and regression analysis revealed positive correlation between fruit size and flesh weight. The use of percentile led to five groups of population ranging from large to small. Draft proposal was examined by committee meeting consisted of representatives from relevant group. Four classes namely Extra, Class I, Class II, Class III according to fruit weight were adopted. | |
