EFFECT OF DIFFERENT IRRIGATION LEVELS ON GROWTH, CROPPING AND MINERAL COMPOSITION OF MANGO (MANGIFERA INDICA LINN.) |

| Abstract:
Fifteen years old Dashehari mango (Mangifera indica Linn.) trees subjected to four irrigation treatments viz. irrigation at 20, 40 and 60 per cant depletion of available soil moisture (ASM) and no irrigation were studied for growth, cropping and leaf nutrient composition. Trees irrigated at 20 and 40 per cant depletion of ASM attained more shoot growth, spread and leaf area are also significantly increased number of flowers, fruit set, size, weight and retention, yield and leaf N, K, Ca, Mg, Fe and Mn contents than those irrigated at 60 per cent depletion of ASM and un-irrigated control. Trees consumed maximum water during the months of May and June under all the irrigation treatments. | |
