FERTILIZER TRIALS ON MANGOS (MANGIFERA INDICA L.) VAR. NAM DOK MAI IN THAILAND

Author:   V. Suriyapananont
Abstract:
Fertilizer trials comprising three levels of N and two levels each of P2O5 and K2O were conducted at the private orchard in Phetchabun province during 1985–1986 on the growth, yield and nutrient status of four-year-old mangos var. Nam Dok Mai.

The trees supplied with 1.0 kg each of N and K2O and 0.4 kg of P2O5 had the highest increase in trunk circumference.

The highest total yield were found on treatment with 0.5 kg N in combination with 0.4 kg of P2O5 and 1.5 kg of K2O during both years. This was associated with mineral content on leaf of 1.12% N 0.40% P and 0.29% K during 1985 and 1.16% N, 0.35% P and 0.60% K during 1986. The lowest percentage of acidity on fruit was found on tree receiving 1.5% of N, 0.2 kg of P2O5 and 1.5 kg of K2O during 1985 and 1.5 kg of N, 0.4 kg of P2O5 and 1.0 kg of K2O during 1986. The Total soluble solid was at the highest level when receiving 1.0 kg of N, 0.2 kg of P2O5 and 1.5 kg of K2O during both years.
