STUDY OF PLANT ORGANS BY X-RADIOGRAPHY: APPLICATION TO WOODY ORNAMENTALS

Abstract:
Industriel X-radiography or soft X-ray technique is used with success on most organs of the plant. It prints the inside structure and gives good pictures which can be stocked, reprinted and reobserved with the right inlargement.

An easy, quick, not very expensive and not destructive method, the soft X-ray technique is used as a modem and more and more interesting technique. It becomes a tool used as a complementary technique used in the observation of the plant organs. It allows to obtain quickly the image of internal structure and gives new, useful and often indispensable information for the establishment of early diagnosis and for the following of scientific works. It can be morphological and physiological works without disturbing the organes used and in selection and breeding programs of woody ornamentals.
