| Abstract:
The vegetation which surrounds us is continually changing. Whether they are recent creations or old varieties, some so-called "new" plants change the appearance of our gardens and our landscapes. While some types of plants are become more prevalent, others are falling out of favour. Plants follow changes in society. The private consumer changes. Plants adapt to new conditions: easy plants, attractive plants, unusual plants. Now that walls are a much less common feature, untrimmed hedges are gaining over trimmed ones. Buildings are becoming higher and plants are climbing up onto balconies. Road networks are expanding, covering plants are travelling. The Rosaceae team is 111, substitutes carry on… These changes in the range of ornamental plants can be achieved only by synergy between research, production, marketing and communication. | |
