Abstract:
Florida is a subtropical state in the United States, that has depended on similar regions of the world for much of its agricultural germplasm.
Unfortunately, many important weeds, insects and diseases have also been imported.
The future development of Florida agriculture depends on more international scientific cooperation, and increased food trade.
As a result, scientists and institutions in Florida and abroad will benefit from closer, collaborative relationships.
