Abstract:
I am grateful to Prof.
Maynard who has given me the opportunity and some time at this opening session.
He has asked me for the title of my speech.
That forced me to think about our work and the role of science of our research work under rapidly changing conditions.
In fact condtions are always changing.
But I amconvinced that since a number of yearswe have found ourselves in a new period with many important changes of great interest for horticulture and its research and this also applies to our Society and to yourselves.
I will inform you about changesin attitudeand interest for us in:
- countries
- international organisatins
- positionof agriculture and horticulture and about
- the role of our society.
